Introducing Volt, the game engine for slots
Volt team·4 min read·Oct 22, 2026
Most slots are built across a math script, an art folder, a front-end repo and a spreadsheet of timings. Every change crosses at least two of them, and the only place you can see the whole game is a build someone made yesterday.
Volt is one app for all of it. Open a game and it's playing, in a window at a real screen size. Its art, its math and its package for Stake Engine sit one switch away.
Four workspaces, one game
- Build: the game in its window, the outcome bar to force any round, every screen size side by side.
- Studio: a canvas for making the game's art with AI workflows, an image toolbar and an agent that works on the board with you.
- Math: board, pays, features and bet modes, simulated on your Mac and solved to a target RTP.
- Ship: Stake Engine's checks before you upload, and the package.
Made on our own games
We're building Volt by making real slots with it: Laser Bear (5×4, 20 lines, free spins and a bonus buy), Buddy (5×4 lines with wilds that expand to fill a reel) and How to Fish (5×5 cluster pays with tumbles, still in the works). Every game you see on this site is one of them, in its own art, recorded from the real game.
Who it's for
Slot studios and solo developers, especially those publishing on Stake Engine, plus the artists and mathematicians who work with them: Studio and Math are workspaces of their own. You don't need to write code to change a game, and if you do write code, the front end and the math underneath are ordinary projects.
What's in the beta
Volt is a Mac app in private beta, free while it lasts. Making art uses credits (✦), and every model and step shows its price before anything runs. We invite studios in small groups from the waitlist.
