The short version. You earn a share of your game's gross gaming revenue (bets minus wins). For a game only on Stake, that's 10% of actual GGR (Profit Share) or a guaranteed 7.5% of expected GGR (Guaranteed). Games also offered on Engine's network of other operators earn half those rates on each operator. Payouts go out on the 1st of each month in USDT or USDC.
The two payment models
| Distribution | Profit Share (actual GGR) | Guaranteed (expected GGR) |
|---|---|---|
| Only on Stake | 10% on Stake | 7.5% on Stake |
| Stake and the network | 5% on Stake + 5% on each operator | 3.75% on Stake + 3.75% on each operator |
- GGR (gross gaming revenue) = total bets − total wins: what the game actually made.
- Expected GGR = total bets × (1 − RTP), using each bet's mode RTP: what the game should make on average.
Profit Share or Guaranteed?
The difference is who carries the swings. With Profit Share you're paid on what actually happened. A player who hits a big win can push a month's GGR below zero; Engine carries that negative balance forward, with no time limit, against future revenue, and you never pay anything out of pocket. With Guaranteed you're paid on the expected house edge regardless of luck, at a lower rate.
Roughly: Guaranteed pays a steadier, smaller amount; Profit Share pays more on average but moves with your game's volatility. A high-volatility game with big tail wins swings far more on Profit Share than a low-volatility one. You choose per team and can change anytime; once your team's first game is live, a change takes effect from the next month.
Only on Stake, or on the Engine network
Distribution is chosen per game when you first submit it, and it's fixed at launch.
- Only on Stake: the higher rate, and eligibility for Stake's promotion. An Only-on-Stake game can never move to the network later.
- Stake and the network: half the rate on Stake, plus the same rate on every other operator that carries the game. Network games are placed lower on Stake and aren't eligible for Stake promotion.
Engine's docs describe the network as in beta with Roobet, opening to all operators on October 13, 2026.
How payouts work
- Paid on the 1st of each month, for the previous month (UTC).
- To an ERC-20 wallet, in USDT by default or USDC.
- Any amount above $0.00 is paid.
- A new wallet address is held for 3 days before it's used.
